1997 BMW E36 M3 Sedan | Quest for Perfection Ep. 14 | Dr Color Chipping the Bumper

In Episode 14 of the Quest for Perfection on the 1997 BMW E36 M3 Sedan, I address the myriad of front bumper chips on the vehicle and attempt to repair them with Dr. Color Chip paint repair kit. The kit consists of color-matched body paint, blending solution, small paint brushes, and blending cloth. The process is fairly straightforward: dab the paint on the chips and scratches, blend into the imperfections, let dry for a few minutes, then use the blending solution to pull all excess paint off the vehicle that did not seat into the chips and scratches.

It’s an excellent product that requires little to no skills in paint repair and can yield outstanding results as long you temper your expectations and realize a $40 product is not going to take the place of a complete sanding, respray, and wet-sanding solution for moderate to severe blemishes and damage.
